HR Internship

This is initially a 6-month temporary contract, with the potential to be made permanent. If the role becomes permanent, we will support your development through completion of CIPD HR qualifications as well as other relevant formal and on-the-job training.

  • Review job descriptions, seeking clarification from line managers where necessary, ensuring they are up to date in terms of the role, reflecting our competencies and behaviours, and in the correct format.
  • Check that every role has an up-to-date skills matrix with behaviours and competencies.
  • Create a training plan for 2022; arranging on site workshops throughout the year for commonly requested courses or programmes identified in personal development plans, and publishing them to all employees, arranging ad hoc training courses for employees in line with the training and development policy and procedure.
  • Collate a list of training and development courses and preferred providers and publish to all employees.
  • Incorporate our vision, mission and values into our documents and procedures.
  • Supporting the recruitment process; shortlisting CVs with recruitment managers, setting up interviews and liaising with candidates.
  • Sending new starter packs to successful candidates.
  • Confirming changes to terms and conditions.
  • General admin and employee communications as required.
  • Other projects that you may be involved in include, setting up/managing an employee portal, updating paper records to electronic files, managing induction programmes, reviewing, updating, and providing feedback on our employee satisfaction survey.

  • Strong communicator who is capable of using initiative when appropriate and capable of delivering multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Degree qualified with some experience of working in an office environment
  • Ideally you will have an HR qualification or some HR experience
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel
  • Highly personable and professional with integrity
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise
